This study is the result of an analysis by the RESPECT project consultant, exchanges with a Guinean constitutional law professor, and discussions and recommendations formulated during the workshop on the consideration of fundamental rights in the drafting of the future Constitution, during which 16 human rights defenders from Guinea met in February 2023.
While the transitional authorities have given themselves the mission of promoting and protecting human rights and public freedoms, a mission enshrined in Article 2 of the Transitional Charter of 27 September 2021, the study focuses on the state of play and the analysis of the place occupied by fundamental rights in the reference texts represented by the Constitution of 7 May 2010, the Constitution of 22 March 2020 and the Transitional Charter of 2021.
