Study: women's rights in Guinea in the light of the political transition

"While rape and sexual violence are criminalised by the Penal Code (Articles 267-270), some dimensions of sexual violence, such as marital rape, are not specifically criminalised, and therefore do not constitute an autonomous criminal offence.

Today, on the occasion of Women's Rights Day, we are sharing a study conducted as part of our RESPECT project in Guinea.

In it, we propose 60 specific recommendations for the protection and promotion of women's rights in Guinea, which follow the recommendations of the Universal Periodic Review.

Avocats Sans Frontières France would like to thank the 63 Guinean civil society organisations, as well as Nordine DRICI from ND Consultance, for having made this study possible.
