Press release: death of Robert BADINTER
Avocats Sans Frontières France was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Robert BADINTER.
In addition to his magnificent career as a human rights defender, Robert BADINTER gave his full support to our association from its creation in 1998 at the initiative of Me François CANTIER. He was one of the first members of Avocats Sans Frontières France and agreed to sponsor or chair many of the events it organised. For him, "Supporting ASF France means supporting the fight for just causes, those where freedom and sometimes life are at stake".
With his passing, we lose a great man who devoted his life to the defence of freedom and justice. It is up to us to perpetuate his fight; that is the vocation of Avocats Sans Frontières France and its promise.
