LAUNCH OF THE LIBRE PROJECT
📣 On April 19 2024, the launch ceremony of the LIBRE project (Lutte contre l'Impunité des auteurs de violences Basées sur le Genre afin de Renforcer l'Egalité de genre en Guinée) was held in Conakry.
🤝Financed by the European Union for 3 years, this project is the result of the shared commitment of a consortium of 3 partner associations: Avocats Sans Frontières France, the Club des Jeunes Filles Leaders de Guinée and the Centre guinéen de Protection et de promotion des Droits de l'Homme, to combat the impunity of perpetrators of gender-based violence (GBV) in Guinea, by promoting victims' access to justice and encouraging a change in the behaviour of the authorities and the population.
📌With many members of Guinean civil society, national authorities and international institutions in attendance, the ceremony provided an opportunity to present the project and the foundations for a close and solid collaboration in the fight against gender-based discrimination, and particularly GBV, in Guinea.
🙏 Thanks to all the participants, speakers and partners for our enriching exchanges during this meeting, as well as to the European Union for their invaluable support in the implementation of this project.
