As part of the LIBRE project, funded by the European Union and implemented in Guinea with the Club of Young Women Leaders of Guinea (CJFLG) and the Guinean Center for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights (CPDH), we organized a series of unique media-focused training sessions.
🗓️ On September 18–19 in Mamou and September 27–28 in Kankan, these sessions aimed to strengthen the skills of journalists, media actors, and traditional communicators, enabling them to better report on and raise awareness about gender-based violence (GBV).
🎙️ Objective: To enhance the capacities of journalists, media actors, and traditional communicators in the prefectures of Mamou, Pita, and Dalaba, so they can more effectively report on and raise awareness about GBV.
📢 Because the pen, the voice, and the images of the media can deconstruct stereotypes, break the silence, and give visibility to victims, it is crucial to place them at the heart of the fight against GBV.
✨ Together, let’s work towards responsible media coverage, more effective awareness, and true empowerment of women and girls in the region.
🤝 Break the silence. Protect the victims. Hold the perpetrators accountable.
